Lifeline
Queen Elizabeth II Lifeline: Celebrating over 20 years of helping seniors and patients
Since 1986 Lifeline and the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital have provided peace of mind to over 2000 patients and their families. Because the Lifeline service provides worry-free protection 24 hours a day, seniors and those at-risk can live comfortably and confidently in their own homes, knowing help is a press of a button away.
How Lifeline Works
QEII Lifeline Subscribers wear a lightweight, waterproof button. If they require assistance, they only have to press this button to signal the Lifeline Response Centre. Skilled Lifeline Representatives have all the medical and personal information to get them help – quickly.
Lifeline uses voice-to-voice communication, so Representatives can assess needs and send the right help for any situation. Even if a Subscriber cannot answer, Lifeline sends assistance at once – whether it is a neighbour, family member or ambulance. Lifeline follows-through every time to ensure help always arrives.
Serving Grande Prairie and surrounding communities
For over 20 years the QEII Hospital Lifeline Program has been complementing the range of services offered by the hospital and extending continuity of care to the home by supporting those who are:
At risk for falls;
Home alone on a frequent basis;
Using adaptive devices to assist with walking;
Managing a medical condition;
Considering a move to an assisted living facility;
At risk for readmission.
