Sarah Joan Alward Bursary
Background
The Queen Elizabeth II Hospital Foundation Board will be awarding the Sarah Joan Alward Bursary. Bursaries range from $1,000 – $2,500 depending on each application. The Foundation Board reserves the right to award as many or as few bursaries, based on the criteria and number of submissions.
The Board will award these Bursaries to people engaged in fields of study that benefit the QEII Hospital, other Health Care Institutions, and/or Health Care Programs in North Western Alberta.
Priority will be given to individuals identified in health care occupations that will benefit the Hospitals and Health Care providers within the Region.
The Board seeks individuals who meet the following criteria:
Criteria
The applicant must:
- fulfil an identified health care occupational need in north western Alberta;
- have experience or education in the health care field;
- have completed a minimum of one year of study in an accredited college or university;
- demonstrate commitment and dedication to his/her work/education;
- be a high performer;
- show growth potential in his/her chosen profession;
- provide a detailed budget to identify financial need (form available with the application).
- be prepared to sign a return for service agreement with Alberta Health Services for one year, (if the region does not have a need for the applicant upon completion of their program, the return for service agreement may be waived)
A cover letter, resume, two (2) letters of reference, curriculum or course outline and any supporting documents which should set out how the candidate meets the above criteria must be submitted by April 30, 2012 to the address below.
